Son of God

Moshe Ben-Chaim

Question: Do Orthodox Jews believe that Jesus was the son of God? I thought I read it some where that the Jewish people followed the Old Testatment and that Jesus had another position , thank you very much.

Mesora: It makes no sense that God - a metaphysical being which we cannot understand - has any similarities to His creations. If we know nothing of God's essence, how can we project onto Him an assumption that He has a child, as the Christians believe?

A child is a purely animalistic phenomena, originating only after the appearance of biological creatures were created. Prior to God's creation of animal life, offspring was not a reality.
Therefore, God can not have a "child".
