Divorce

Moshe Ben-Chaim

Reader: I want to know what people think of divorce in the jewish religion. Is it considered a good thing or bad? Or if they are condemned to their faith. Thank you

Mesora: Divorce is an institution created by God. He understands that people's free will many times lead them to wrong decisions, and at times, such decisions are in the area of marriage. People marry incompatible spouses. As it comprises a part of the Torah, divorce is recognized as part of God's will. It is therefore considered a good.
